Featuring very detailed high-definition visuals and effects, Riptide GP: Renegade puts players in the role of a hydro jet racer who has been framed and banned from the professional Riptide GP league. In order to restore your reputation as the best racer on the planet you must compete in illegal races around the city. Since the races you find yourself in are not sanctioned, you will not only have to race against other participants but also evade the police who have their own hydro jet bikes. The combination of being both a racer and a fugitive is one of the things that makes Riptide GP: Renegade a refreshingly different take on traditional arcade-style racing.
In Riptide GP: Renegade, races take place in large futuristic cities with gleaming skylines of glass, steel and verdant city parks. At night you will find yourself racing around a huge neon-lit fairground. However, other locations present you with derelict urban spaces with streets flooded due to a natural disaster. You’ll also find yourself racing through industrial compounds while fighter jets scream overhead raining bombs on the surrounding architecture.
There’s a slew of spectacular tricks you can pull off in Riptide GP: Renegade including grinds and flips with more becoming available as you progress in the game. By successfully pulling off stunts you gain a speed boost so the more complicated tricks you perform, the better your chances of success. Winning in Riptide GP: Renegade not only gets you more XP but also cash rewards you can use to upgrade your ride and add custom designs to it. You can also unlock new hydro jets by defeating specific opponents during the game’s many boss fights.
